Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to what patients ask us most — about appointments, treatment, costs and travelling to us.

Appointments & visiting

You can book by phone, WhatsApp, or the appointment form on this site. Walk-ins are also welcome during OPD hours.

We are based in Agartala and treat patients from all 8 districts of Tripura, with dedicated guidance for those travelling long distances.

Yes. Sudden vision loss, eye injury or severe eye pain should be seen immediately — call us right away.

Yes, we support several TPA and insurance schemes. Please carry your policy or card details.

OPD runs 9:00 AM–8:00 PM on most weekdays, with shorter hours on Sunday and Wednesday. See the timings table for details.

Eye tests & treatment

A complete eye examination usually takes 30–45 minutes. If your pupils need to be dilated for a retina check, allow around 2 hours in total.

Dilating drops are used when we need a clear view of the retina. They blur your near vision and increase glare for 4–6 hours, so please arrange for someone to travel back with you and do not drive immediately afterwards.

Cataract surgery is done under local anaesthetic drops. You stay awake but should not feel pain — most patients describe only mild pressure. The procedure itself typically takes 15–20 minutes.

Usually we operate one eye at a time and review the result before scheduling the second eye. Your surgeon will advise what is safest in your case.

It depends on the lens implanted. Many patients still use reading glasses after a standard monofocal lens. Your surgeon will explain the lens options and what each one can and cannot do for your vision.

Many patients resume light indoor work within a few days, but this varies by procedure and by individual healing. Follow the specific advice given at your discharge and attend every follow-up.

Costs, insurance & cashless

Yes — we support several TPA and insurance schemes for eligible treatments. Approval depends on your policy and the procedure.

Bring your insurance/TPA card or policy details, a government photo ID, and any referral or prior prescriptions.

We help you raise a pre-authorisation request with your TPA before planned treatment. Once approved, eligible costs are settled directly, subject to your policy terms.

You can still be treated on a reimbursement basis — pay and claim from your insurer with the bills and reports we provide.

The list shows our current empanelments and is updated from time to time. Call us with your policy details and we will confirm whether cashless is available or arrange reimbursement.

Cost depends on the procedure, the lens or materials used, the complexity of your case and your insurance cover. We give you a written estimate after your evaluation — please ask before you travel.

Yes, EMI options are available for eligible procedures so that surgery costs can be spread over time. Ask our front desk for the current options.

Travelling from your district

Tell us your town when you book and we will try to plan your tests, consultation and counselling into a single trip. For surgery you will still need to return for follow-up.

Walk-ins are welcome during OPD hours, but if you are travelling a long distance please call or WhatsApp first so we can advise on timing and reduce your waiting.

Yes, if you are having dilating drops, an injection or surgery. Your vision may be blurred afterwards and you should not travel back alone.

Still have a question?

We would rather answer a question than have you delay treatment.
