A soft suction ring holds the eye; the laser completes the incisions, capsulotomy and lens fragmentation in seconds.

You are moved to the operating microscope, the softened lens is removed and the IOL is implanted through the laser-made incision.

Next-day, one-week and one-month checks, with lens performance assessed at each visit.
Recovery & aftercare
Recovery follows the same course as conventional phacoemulsification — clearer vision within a day or two and a four-week course of drops. Because less ultrasound energy is used, the cornea often looks quieter on the first post-operative day, which some patients experience as sharper early vision.
Why timing matters
The honest position: for a straightforward cataract with a standard monofocal lens, conventional phaco in experienced hands gives excellent results and the laser adds cost without adding much. Where the laser earns its place is in premium lens implantation, astigmatism correction and technically demanding eyes. We will tell you plainly which group you fall into.

Is laser cataract surgery better than normal cataract surgery? +
It is more precise at specific steps, not automatically better overall. For premium or toric lenses and for astigmatism correction the precision matters; for a routine cataract with a monofocal lens, standard phaco gives equally good vision.
Is the laser used to remove the cataract itself? +
No. The laser makes the incisions and softens the cataract. The lens material is still removed by ultrasound and suction, and the IOL is still implanted by the surgeon.
Does the laser hurt? +
No. The eye is numbed with drops and the laser stage lasts under a minute. You may feel light pressure from the docking ring.
Does insurance cover laser cataract surgery? +
